Did You Know?
- 1 yard of quilt fabric weighs approximately 4 oz.
- 1 pound of quilt fabric is about 4 yards.

*As mattresses have gotten larger in size, I've adjusted the standard size for figuring your quilt top. Our mattress is 22" deep, that means I would need to add 44" to the mattress widthsize to get the width wide enough to cover the sides of the mattress! When Grandma Scarlett was making quilts, she only added 6" to each side! That is why the "Double/Full sized quilt that used to fit, now only fits on that twin bed your son or daughter takes to college!!! (Note: Crib mattresses are still only about 6-8 deep, but the top usually does not hang over)
